The B Family | Lancaster Adoption Photographer

Over the last year I’ve had the joy of photographing over 15 Red Thread Sessions and have come to love these sessions with all my heart. Never did I imagine that this would become such a special part of my photography business! The many families I’ve been able to meet and photograph has given me such joy. Every story is unique and special and it has been a huge privilege to capture these cherished moments. Each session I’ve done has given me a little more hope and joy to hold on to as we patiently wait to bring our own child home from Uganda some day.

Speaking of waiting, here is another adoption story that will warm your hearts…told in the words of Mama B.

“Adoption was never really on our radar. We had been blessed with 3 beautiful bio daughters and thought our family was complete. However, God had other plans for us. Through a series of events, the biggest being a family missions trip, God started speaking to us and we felt led to start the adoption process. Essentially we were being called to start over with our family :)

Ethiopia grabbed our hearts and after mounds of paperwork and waiting we were matched with a precious little 3 month old girl in 2011. We were all set to travel in December 2011 when the country started having major slowdowns due to policy changes. Our wait was only beginning. Each month we would get updates and pictures of her progress. She was literally growing up before our eyes half way around the world.  20 months after seeing her sweet precious face we were able to finally bring her home in May of 2013.

Having her join our family has been one of the greatest joys we have ever experienced. We can not even imagine what our lives would be like if we had not said yes to the call to adopt.”
