Fun Fridays // A Date Idea and a Refreshing Summer Drink

It’s July and we are in the throes of summer! We thought it would be fun to share some (sweet!) ways to stay cool on those hot days while enjoying the company of your special someone. Keep reading for a fun summer date idea and an absolutely delicious drink recipe that we created and will make your taste buds want more!

If you’re in Lancaster, Central Market is a fantastic place to escape together and pick up the freshest and local ingredients around! Whether it’s for staying in and making a fancy dinner together or switching things up with this new drink recipe, shopping at market is a fun place to go to be in each others company while enjoying the flavors of Lancaster’s best. We’ve found that being intentional about making and doing things together is such a great way  to stay connected when life gets busy, so why not try out a date to Central Market? It is known as one of the country’s oldest farmers markets and has a rich history dating back over 275 years. It isn’t just a place to get your fruit and produce though there are also some wonderful stands to grab a light lunch. Rafiki’s Deli is one of Nicola and David’s favorites and an iced coffee from Mean Cup is always a must on a hot summer day. And, while you take a little stroll around you might want to check Pineapple House Creations which makes homemade lotions and soaps, or snag some delicious Pennsylvania goodness from Amish Family Recipes.The best part of your date is yet to come as you venture home to try out this incredible recipe we found for a Watermelon-Honey-Citrus Refresher.  We were absolutely shocked by how perfectly the tangy citrus flavors complimented the mellow, sweet watermelon base in this drink! It’s a match made in summer heaven and more importantly, SO EASY to make! Your taste buds will want this every day during those hot summer months.
