A few months ago, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Janelle and Joel at their gorgeous home in Lititz for a cozy maternity session. Even on a gray, chilly day their rustic farmhouse property was the perfect backdrop. Both of them were so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. Their love for each other and their growing family was evident in every shot. They couldn’t contain their excitement to meet their new addition!
How gorgeous is Janelle and that sweet baby bump? It was so nice to then warm up in their cozy home and get a few family shots with their oldest son, Simon. I loved that we got to capture a few tender moments with just the three of them before the arrival of another very special little boy.
I love photographing newborn sessions for returning clients as it is always interesting to see the similarities and differences between the siblings. Leo looked so much like Simon except he had just a little less hair! I photographed Simon’s newborn session back in 2012 and can’t believe he is now a proud big brother! Oh how peaceful and content Leo was in the studio. He stayed warm and snuggled up in some soft cozy knits and blankets we picked to accent the rustic cozy feel of Janelle and Joel’s home.
I can’t get enough of sleepy newborn smiles! I had to stifle my squeals as I clicked away so I wouldn’t wake him.
A baby in a bucket is always sooo adorable right!? Even though Simon took a little while to warm up to the camera we were able to get a great shot of these two together. I love that they are both awake in this photo. Sibling poses usually end up being some of my favorite family shots and I just adore this image of these two together.Don’t you just love Leo’s squishiness!? Gah!
It was such a joy to spend more time with these guys for a morning. I couldn’t be more happy for the FOUR of them, and I’m secretly hoping they invite me back to their beautiful home for a farmhouse picnic session this summer ;)
