There is nothing quite like some gorgeous springtime family sweetness! I absolutely adore the Knepp family and a sweet friendship has blossomed since we first met when I photographed their gorgeous wedding in 2011. Then came along sweet Parker and it was an honor to capture his newborn and one year milestone sessions. Baby Addie made her appearance next and I am so thankful to be a part of documenting the Knepp’s beautiful life stories.
I’m guessing our phones and cameras are filled with mostly photos of our children (any maybe pets if you are anything like me!? #crazycatlady.) We want to desperately remember how tiny they were and preserve the wonderful milestones they meet (not that my cat has really ever met any milestones except for getting fatter). But, how important to capture moments together as family as well? Those will be the images your kids will cherish most in the future when we are not around anymore. Those will be the images that will show the beautiful memories that were built together, savored in our hearts and then passed on to their own children someday. This is why I love photographing family sessions because preservation of people’s beautiful life stories is something that is cherished. It seriously gets me all gooey and sappy inside.
Paige requested a session right around mothers day and it was perfect timing to celebrate her and the love she has for her family plus sneak in a few 7 month photos of little miss Addie. She had seen one of my patchwork quilts from a previous photo shoot I had done and knew she had to have it for her session also. The spring time colors paired with the quilt were a perfect match for the color scheme she had selected for their outfits. She is a style guru!
Our time together came to an end rather too quickly, but thats ok because I know I’ll be seeing them again soon for Miss Addie’s one year cake smash in the fall.
One of the things I love most about Paige and Adam is that they never have huge expectations for how their kids will do during a session. Add in their easy-going and care free spirits and this made for a super fun and memorable time together. This kind of mindset always helps create a place where children don’t feel like they are expected to perform a certain way. When we let kids be kids, it’s usually ends up allowing me, the photographer, to capture their true and adorable little personalities.
Parker is the sweetest big brother EVER. He wanted to shower his little sister with serious love. It was the most adorable thing ever. Happy 7 months Miss A!
Baby chub and curled toes. I’m in love! Oh…and those beautiful colors have me swooning.
Can you handle her, because I. CAN. NOT. Those eyes!
