These photos are extremely precious to me, not just because they are of some of my dearest friends, but mostly because they represent deep faith, hope and love. When Julie and Andrew got married, they vowed to to build the foundation of their life together on these three words. It was recently that they called upon them to help them through an unexpected journey.
In 2014, my hubby and I were on our way up to New York to visit family for Thanksgiving when I got a call with heartbreaking news. They had lost their precious baby girl only weeks before joining her big sister and their growing family. I was devastated. My best friend had just lost her daughter, without cause or explanation, and I was 300 miles away. I remember feeling helpless and confused and angry. I never got a chance to hold that sweet baby girl or say hello and goodbye. While we continue to grieve for her, she will always stay in our hearts.
Now, fast forward to last summer, when Julie told me she was pregnant again. I was ecstatic for her! And even though the next 9 months seemed long and filled with apprehension, Julie and Andrew stood strong in their faith and were anchored in hope. I am so proud of these maternity images because of what they represent….faith in a God’s promises, hope for healing and love for this new baby. Though bittersweet, this story has a very happy ending, but you’ll have to keep scrolling to see some favorites from beautiful Baby B’s newborn session.
The day finally arrived for Brenna to make her grand entrance. She is perfect, healthy and deeply loved. Big sister is super proud and I can’t help but smile every time I look at these images of them together. My assistant, Danielle, and I loved every minute of this newborn session and we could have snuggled that sweet little peanut all day long. Thank goodness her mama is my best friend, because that means I do get to snuggle her as much as I want. Yay!
